[ He's dreaming. He has to be.
But even once Valmont's done rubbing his eyes in disbelief, they're still there. All twelve talismans, lined up nice and neat on his nightstand.
Well then. He still doesn't know what's going on with this world, but if it brought the talismans here, to him... he might not dislike it quite so much as he did before.
And so, if you see a guy this weekend levitating around town, occasionally shooting fire out of his hands and/or laser beams out of his eyes, and looking giddier than anyone here has ever seen him... Well. That's probably V. Feel free to talk to him/try to keep him from blowing up something of yours. He's in a good mood. He might listen. ]

What confidence.
[He looks away, over at his Gardevoir, who is still watching Valmont with unease.]
I don't suppose you would be too against me testing out that theory?
[And Uchi's head snaps over because excuse me what.]
[action]
[ Please knock him down a peg, Nagi. He's getting insufferable. ]
[action]
But she's also too scared to do anything, and simply watches as Nagi pulls Neba from his shoulders, letting the Abra hover by the Gardevoir.
Nagi watches Valmont quietly for a long minute, his expression impassive and his body language equally so. Then, his gaze turns sharp and all at once he's moving, pushing a hand out with one swift motion. Being able to feel the familiar thrill of psychic energy coursing through him causes a smile to spring unbidden to his face as he aims to send a levitating Valmont hurtling back toward that very building he had just been destroying.]
[action]
Whatever. That's not important. What's important is showing the boy exactly who's in charge here. So he narrows his eyes, which blaze brightly as they release twin heat beams in Nagi's direction. ]
[action]
[He barks as he recoils, seeing the beams coming his way. The pair of psychics are quick to jump to his aid, and in an instant Nagi disappears. The spot where he had been standing practically explodes with the force of the attack Valmont sent his way, creating a deep crater in the pavement.
He reappears a few feet away thanks to their teleport, watching Valmont with his smile flickering. So, those talismans have more power than he thought.]
You don't want to fight me.
[He murmurs in a tone that's warning, his eyes never leaving Valmont's blazing ones.]
[action]
Oh, I'm fairly sure I do.
[ Bzzt. There goes another heat blast. Hope your reflexes are just as quick the second time, kid. ]
[action]
Inches away from Valmont, in fact.
His hand shoots out again with enough force to break concrete, but instead of touching him the force that strikes Valmont is invisible, but has every bit of the energy behind it that a real punch might.
You must be joking if you think he's going to actually put his hands on you.]
[action]
Well. If the boy is going to get physical, so can he. Valmont retaliates with a punch of his own - one with several times more force behind it than you'd expect from a normal human. Having a super-strength talisman is rather useful too, come to that. ]
[action]
For the first time in what feels like forever, Nagi feels his body give as he's sent staggering back, quite literally knocked out of the air to land hard on his feet. His hand rests against the front of his shirt in a gesture more of disbelief than pain. He's felt far, far worse.
He wasn't going to kill Valmont. But now?
That may be what looks like a bench rising into the air, only to be sent hurtling right at him. Or, he might be imagining it. Either way, if he doesn't do something, he's going to get a face full of metal.]
[action]
Hmm. Speed and levitation add up to something that feels remarkably similar to flight. He's going to have to play around with that - after this fight, of course. Gaining a little altitude, he raises his left hand - the one with the dragon talisman in it. Nagi is about to have a huge burst of flame coming his way. How about a little fire, scarecrow? ]
[action]
TELEPORT
He's still far from his Pokemon, and the move reaches him seconds too late. The boy blinks out of existence only to reappear a few yards away, his right leg giving out beneath him. The very same happens to be on fire.
Uchi lets out an uncharacteristic cry of shock as she rushes forward to blast the flames away with the force of her own telekinetic attack before the flames can crawl up his body. She doesn't have a chance to actually lift Nagi off his feet as he stands on his own, the material of his pants blackened on one side and partially burned away near the cuff.
Without breaking stride, Nagi sweeps his arms forward in an attempt to use his telekinesis to freeze Valmont where he is, grab him, slam him into the ground, building, anything.]
[action]
Wh- Let me go! [ He can't even struggle, though it's not for lack of trying. And oh no, that is the ground coming up very fast, isn't it -
His head bounces off the pavement with a solid thunk. It's a very good thing for him that the horse talisman doesn't need conscious thought to activate, because he would have been in no state to think for a while. As it is, however, the talisman does begin working as soon as he's injured, patching up that little concussion. He should be fine in a minute... but in the meantime, he's wide open to anything else Nagi should wish to throw at him. ]
[action]
He stops when he's standing near Valmont again, staring down at him with an expression crossed between frustration and disgust. If he didn't have those talismans, Nagi would have easily been able to kill him by now. ...Perhaps. What he said to Tsukiyama before now comes back to him full force.
If that is the case, death may be assumed to not be permanent...though I don't know what would happen if you were injured badly, but not badly enough to die from it.]
You are a fool.
[He hisses, tightening his grip around Valmont with a force bearing down on his chest, so hard that hair-line cracks in the pavement begin to shoot out all around him. It would be easy to snap his neck like all the rest, but those talismans may very well just be able to heal him from something like that. So, Nagi stands there in thought, trying to think of what he would like to do with him.
Nearby he spots a mailbox. Far heavier than the bench, made entirely out of steel. He doesn't move a hand this time, the box uprooting itself from the ground seemingly of its own accord to hover just above Valmont's head.
If Valmont doesn't wake up to see what's about to happen, Nagi is going to test his theory that you can be damaged so much and not actually fully die from it. ...Or at least enough to trigger this world's mechanism of non-death.]
[action]
Oh. That's interesting. Mailboxes don't usually hover like that. They especially don't usually hover like that above his head oh bugger. He was in the middle of something, wasn't he. So even though he has a slowly fading headache and he would really like to just lie here for a bit, he supposes he'd better get up and keep fighting.
...And he can't move. This situation just got a whole lot less desirable. His gaze shifts to Nagi, and oh no, that look on his face wasn't really something he wanted to ever be graced with either. It dawns on him that it may not have been a great idea to make the boy this angry. Because yes, he can't die, and he can heal, but that won't make whatever Nagi's planning to do to him any less painful. ]
I don't suppose you'd like to talk this over...?
[action]
Just behind Nagi, his Pokemon watch, stricken. Neba knows better than to intervene, but Uchi has gotten to the point where she doesn't entirely care what Nagi does to her. But she can't stand by and watch him murder this man.
The box comes crashing down with all the force of a speeding car and strikes Valmont solidly in the head, but before it can completely fall and crush his skull, a feminine shout rings through Nagi's head so hard and so violently that he stops before he can lift the box and bring it crashing down again. Now it hovers over Valmont's head once more as the boy stands there, quietly. He doesn't intend to stop, but he's been distracted. What's more, all of his psychic energy has been focused on the mailbox, and for the moment Valmont's body has been freed.]
[action]
First, Valmont briefly experiences the worst pain he's ever felt in his life before blessedly slipping unconscious again. Doubtless he would have appreciated the ability to move if he were awake to take advantage of it, but alas, right now that's not happening.
Second, a Servine materializes into view, yet another talisman clutched tightly in its leafy paws (three guesses as to whether or not it's the invisibility talisman), and charges at the back of Nagi's legs. How dare you hurt his trainer, you... you jerk! ]
[action]
He wheels around to grab whatever hit him- or, at least he would if he could see it.]
What?!
[action]
Valmont, meanwhile, remains thoroughly out cold. The horse talisman is good, but it's not instantaneous. He'll be another minute or two, probably. ]
[action]
He struggles to get back to his feet, but the jostling around that the Servine is doing to him makes it impossible for him to stay upright for long. Nonetheless, he refuses to let out another sound. Whatever has him can't fight back forever against his own telekinesis trying to yank it off.]
[action]
The now-visible Servine growls and sends a torrent of leaves flying at Nagi. You want to play, friend? Let's play. ]
[action]
Now he turns his attention fully to the Servine, lifting his hand higher with his fingers slightly twitching, aiming to lift it right off the ground to stop it from being able to attack.]
[action]
At which point another blast of flame shoots past Nagi's ear. Valmont's back in the game, and, well - it's not that he cares about his Pokémon, it's just that he's responsible for them, okay? In any event, you can keep your metaphorical hands off his Servine, Nagi. He's still on the ground, which explains his misjudged aim, but he's getting up as we speak, and you can bet he's not planning to miss next time. ]
[action]
He turns, feeling an uncomfortable prickle at the back of his neck when he sees Valmont rising back to his feet without a scratch. Meanwhile he's got one arm around his body while the other hangs at his side. That's blood in his mouth he can taste because damnit his ribs they're probably pretty broken, at least a few.
The look in his eyes hold nothing but hatred for Valmont as he spits, his words breathy with the attempt to catch his breath.]
I am going to kill you.
[action]
He has to smirk at Nagi's proclamation, though. Really, hasn't the boy realized what he's dealing with yet? ]
Oh, I'm afraid that's not quite possible. But I do wish you the best of luck in trying!
[ And he laughs. It's a very unhinged sound. Did you order some more fire, Nagi? Too damn bad! ]
