02 $$ [action for anywhere] (fourth wall!)

[ He's dreaming. He has to be.

But even once Valmont's done rubbing his eyes in disbelief, they're still there. All twelve talismans, lined up nice and neat on his nightstand.

Well then. He still doesn't know what's going on with this world, but if it brought the talismans here, to him... he might not dislike it quite so much as he did before.

And so, if you see a guy this weekend levitating around town, occasionally shooting fire out of his hands and/or laser beams out of his eyes, and looking giddier than anyone here has ever seen him... Well. That's probably V. Feel free to talk to him/try to keep him from blowing up something of yours. He's in a good mood. He might listen. ]

[A man walks by and stops, watching the destruction caused by this one man with a mixed expression. It was hard to gauge the look in his eyes, since he didnt have any, only dark holes.]

Well! That's quite the ability you have there, friend!

[He seemed chipper, at least. A little TOO chipper.]

[Valmont isn't the only one experiencing a sudden return of power, though he's not going around making an absolute show of it. The relief and familiarity of having his powers back at all is really the only thing Nagi can focus on for the most part, and he would just stay in his room using his Gear without his hands just because he can if it weren't for the rampant teleporting going on. It's gotten to the point where he has both his Abra and his Gardevoir out and with him, ready to help teleport him back to where he was in the event that he's moved again.

This is another one of those instances in which Nagi finds himself out in the street after having been in the base a moment ago. Neba is on his shoulders and Uchi has her hand on his arm, ready to teleport him away when he suddenly stops them with a lifted hand.

He isn't moving, but his gaze is tracking Valmont's progress as he makes his way down the street. If nothing else, this just confirms that he isn't the only one with his abilities back. Instead of engaging the man he just stands there watching because really. Apparently he's not leaving until he sees where this is going.]

[ Sweet destruction. Oh, he'd missed this. He's just finished blasting a good-sized hole in the side of a nearby house and is determining whether there's anything worth taking inside, when something to the side catches his eye. Is that - ?

Damn and triple damn. If anything could destroy the beauty of this moment, it would be the boy with the hellbird. So of course, here he is - though the bird is nowhere in sight. Thank goodness for small favors. He's sure whatever the other creatures with him are will be just as dead-set on tormenting him, though.

He trains his gaze on Nagi. Sparks flicker at the corners of his eyes. ]

What do you want?

[ His first instinct is to blast the hell out of this stranger, just for the sheer joy of blasting the hell out of someone. But his brain, though high on power, does register that the man has paid him a compliment, so he reluctantly lowers his blasting hand. ]

I'm glad someone appreciates - good lord, man! [ He tries to take a step back, having temporarily forgotten that he's still in midair. ] What happened to your eyes?

[ Given that his are still crackling with electricity, he may not exactly be one to talk. ]

[Thankfully, hellbird is in his ball for now, but he can be brought out at any time. Today, however, Nagi feels pretty confident that he can handle this on his own, as ridiculous as it's promising to be.]

Just what are you trying to accomplish?

[While his Pokemon seem to have been made uneasy by the man's strange powers, Nagi seems unbothered by them. At least, not nearly as much as he should be.]

[Kevin lets out a goodnatured chuckle, wiping down his office shirt, which might have just spread the bloodstains on it out more. Have to make yourself presentable when meeting new people! Strexcorp rule number 124.]

My eyes? Well, isn't that a silly question to ask. I should be asking what's happening to your eyes. They're so... bright.

Whatever I want! [ He's practically laughing. Who is this and what has he done with Valmont? ]

Do you see this? [ He shoves a talisman in Nagi's direction. There looks to be a dragon engraved on it. ] Do you have any idea what it is? What it can do?

[ He might have a little bit of an idea if he's been paying attention at all. V's... not exactly subtle. ]

I can't say that I do.

[Whatever it is, you probably shouldn't have it. Sure, he knows what it does, but what it is just looks like an old relic that stands to be pretty useless on its own. With no one to wield it, he can very well assume that it may be.]

And you're using it to destroy the town in plain view of anyone who might come across you, then?

[That destruction has attracted someone's attention that Valmont more than likely would not like to deal with. Before he can even notice, a certain tall, dark, and handsome man dressed in armor is levitating next to him, looking rather amused.]

That's cute. But you're cheating~

[ Oh, he definitely shouldn't have it. But he does. And he's going to take full advantage of that. ]

Why not? Do you suppose anyone is going to be able to do anything about it? [ Let them try. He would dearly like to see that. ]

[ And that's definitely blood on his shirt. All over his shirt. All right. This man is officially Freaking Him Out.

But the opportunity to wax lyrical about talismans takes precedence over freaking out. Besides, given the power he's packing, he's pretty sure he can take whatever the other man throws at him... hopefully. ]

You see this? [ He holds up a small octagonal rock with what appears to be a pig carved into it. ] This is a talisman. One of twelve. And my personal second favorite.

[ He helpfully illustrates why by squinting at the ground beneath him. One laser eye blast later, there's a lot less ground there. ]

I'm fairly certain there are a lot of Pokemon here who would be very capable of stopping you.

[Not that he cares what happens, but gosh dang you're dumb for just- flaunting like you think nobody will do anything. That's asking to get into a fight, or arrested, or killed. But more power to you, he guesses.]

I beg your pardon?

[ How did this man get here so suddenly? And - cute? Is he making fun of him? Valmont bristles. ]

I'm sorry - cheating how, exactly?

Your little talismans.

[Even if he can't see them, he can definitely sense them.]

What's wrong? Can't conjure your own magic?

I'm sure they would be quite capable of trying.

[ Yeah, someone's pretty sure of himself right now. Especially since thanks to two of the talismans, he can't actually be hurt or killed. So, bring it on. ]

Well, YOU'VE certainly gotten more interesting.

[Nui's interjection is only surprising in that it's being delivered from the top of the very tall electrical lines she's perched on. A bit cliche, really, but whatever works.]

You've still insulted Lady Ragyo, though. So bye!

[And that's it before she cracks a -yes, that is indeed a seamstress' measuring tape, and flicks it at Valmont's face. It whistles through the air with a lot more force than any sewing instrument has a right to, and it'll cut flesh as well as an actual bullwhip, in her hands.]

[Wow, okay.]

What confidence.

[He looks away, over at his Gardevoir, who is still watching Valmont with unease.]

I don't suppose you would be too against me testing out that theory?

[And Uchi's head snaps over because excuse me what.]

Oh, do test it out, won't you? [ He spreads his arms wide. ] I'll even let you take the first shot.

[ Please knock him down a peg, Nagi. He's getting insufferable. ]

How did you know about -

[ Well, whatever. It's not like he's trying to keep the talismans' existence a secret. That might be kind of difficult at this point. ]

All right, no, as it happens, I haven't got any powers personally, but does it matter? The distinction is negligible. It's hardly as though anyone is going to take the talismans from me, after all.

[ Don't tempt fate, V. ]

[The look on poor Uchi's face is one of nothing but sheer terror. Nagi may very well do several things, here. She's seen into his mind. If she doesn't intervene, he might actually try to kill this man, if given the chance.

But she's also too scared to do anything, and simply watches as Nagi pulls Neba from his shoulders, letting the Abra hover by the Gardevoir.

Nagi watches Valmont quietly for a long minute, his expression impassive and his body language equally so. Then, his gaze turns sharp and all at once he's moving, pushing a hand out with one swift motion. Being able to feel the familiar thrill of psychic energy coursing through him causes a smile to spring unbidden to his face as he aims to send a levitating Valmont hurtling back toward that very building he had just been destroying.]

[ Valmont just barely has time to register is that a measuring tape? before his brain helpfully reminds him that he should, perhaps, get out of the way. He propels himself to the side just in time to avoid getting an eyeful of pain, but the tape does cut deep into his shoulder.

He hisses - partially in pain, although the wound is already starting to knit itself up, but mostly in anger. Because while there may no longer be a gash in his skin, his healing powers don't, unfortunately, extend to the one in his clothes. ]

My suit! Do you know how much this cost? [ There's pure venom in his voice. ] You just made a very grave mistake, young lady.

[ He raises his left hand - and there's a jet of fire headed right at her. ]

[DS just laughs. Listen to that fabulous, egotistical, rage enducing laugh, V. The Absol curled around his shoulder narrows her eyes.]

He says the disctinction is negiligible... What a fucking moron...!

[And just like that he stops being a cocky goofball and goes to being a cocky but completely serious about kicking your ass douche bag.]

Alright, kiddo. Prove it. Let's see just how powerful those little charms of yours are. Use a spell on me!

[ He'd been expecting the boy to use one of his Pokémon. Being attacked by the boy himself comes as a surprise, and being surprised means he doesn't have a chance to defend himself. So - yes. There he goes, flying backward with a highly undignified yelp. He does manage to regain control before he actually crashes into anything, though, righting himself against the... whatever it is that's pushing on him. Seriously, what kind of power is that? And - is he smiling? That's unsettling.

Whatever. That's not important. What's important is showing the boy exactly who's in charge here. So he narrows his eyes, which blaze brightly as they release twin heat beams in Nagi's direction. ]

What did you just call me - ?!

[ Oh, it's on. It is on. Eat hot dragon talisman, DS. In other words, there's now a whole lot of fire coming from Valmont's hand and headed your way. ]

Uchi! Neba!

[He barks as he recoils, seeing the beams coming his way. The pair of psychics are quick to jump to his aid, and in an instant Nagi disappears. The spot where he had been standing practically explodes with the force of the attack Valmont sent his way, creating a deep crater in the pavement.

He reappears a few feet away thanks to their teleport, watching Valmont with his smile flickering. So, those talismans have more power than he thought.]

You don't want to fight me.

[He murmurs in a tone that's warning, his eyes never leaving Valmont's blazing ones.]
