02 $$ [action for anywhere] (fourth wall!)

[ He's dreaming. He has to be.

But even once Valmont's done rubbing his eyes in disbelief, they're still there. All twelve talismans, lined up nice and neat on his nightstand.

Well then. He still doesn't know what's going on with this world, but if it brought the talismans here, to him... he might not dislike it quite so much as he did before.

And so, if you see a guy this weekend levitating around town, occasionally shooting fire out of his hands and/or laser beams out of his eyes, and looking giddier than anyone here has ever seen him... Well. That's probably V. Feel free to talk to him/try to keep him from blowing up something of yours. He's in a good mood. He might listen.

[France smiles graciously, turning to head back inside.]

Of course. We have a selection. Do you have a preference?

[He opens the door, holding it for Valmont and waving a hand towards the empty tables.]

Please be seated.

[France's face screws up. Cue fussiness.]

You're in for a disappointment. There's no Bergamot orange here, so, while the tea itself is actually quite nice, it's not the right balance of flavour. I'll bring you the tins of a few of our tea selection. Just a moment.

[He disappears briefly into the kitchen, putting together a tea tray, grabbing the relevant tea tins, and selecting one of the croissants he'd baked about an hour ago. He puts it on a plate and grabs a selection of jams and preserves as well as room temperature butter.]

[He rejoins Valmont with all of this, setting the tray on the table with the tea tins closest to Valmont.]

Clamperl Grey is what is closest probably to Earl Grey, but I don't find the orange flavour pleasing personally, although it's quite popular even so. Typically, I find the unblended leaves here to be quite good. I like the Dragonair first flush personally, but if you're looking for something a bit sweeter, go with the second flush.

[France chuckles at that Hell comment, but there's a brief light in his eyes that belies something akin to nervousness before he blinks and it disappears. He inclines his head to the choice of tea and goes about making it at the table with the well-designed contents on the tea tray. He barely needs to pay attention to the motions, though, the act of making tea so familiar that France is able to follow Valmont's gaze to the talisman.]

Are there different powers associated with different talismans?

[He places the teacup and saucer in front of Valmont along with an individual tea strainer, the pot of tea just above. The croissant finds its way just above the folks on the table setting. France takes the seat across the table.]

How many are there?

[France raises an amused eyebrow. My, you're a difficult one to please.]

Yes, I did. You won't find a better croissant in this world.

[His expression shifts into a mischievous expression as he motions with his forefinger in a circular motion to the sheep talisman.]

I would say that astral projection is very useful. More so than those other two that are destructive, even. The possibility of being able to go somewhere you physically aren't: it is the wish of spies everywhere. Are there limits to these talismans' abilities?
